Pairing
We have found a model -- concretely, the mixed dimensional bilayer model -- in which pairing is strongly enhanced, yielding binding energies on the order of the superexchange J [1]. These binding energies are sufficiently high that pairing can be (and has been) observed in a cold atom experiment [2].
