(23.01.) Dark dimension, swampland, and effective field theory

According to the DD proposal, we might well live in a universe with one compact extra dimension of micrometer size. In this talk, I discuss delicate issues concerning the low energy EFT framework (limit) invoked by the proponents of this scenario for its realization and the connection between the string theory and the EFT side of the scenario itself.
