Parametric resonance is a common feature in many inflationary scenarios, arising as a non-perturbative effect driven by the coupling of the inflaton with other fields oscillating at the bottom of the potential. This effect can lead to the exponential production of particles, with significant consequences for the post-inflationary evolution of the universe. In this talk, we explore parametric resonance in the context of string inflation, focusing on a modulus coupled to an axion through a potential driven by type iib string theory on Calabi-Yau orientifolds. We demonstrate how the dynamics of a string-theoretic construction yield outcomes that deviate from conventional effective field theory predictions. By analyzing specific models, we explore how axion production via parametric resonance imposes novel constraints on model building.
