(15.10.) Swampland constraints on de Sitter from 10d and 4d

The swampland program provides criteria to identify low energy effective theories which can be consistently coupled to gravity in the ultraviolet. However, given our limited understanding of quantum gravity, at present most of these criteria are conjectured. Motivated by the fact that our universe looks very similar to 4d de Sitter space, in this talk I will focus on two swampland conjectures: the de Sitter and the weak gravity conjecture. The first will be tested in certain ten dimensional setups which are good candidates for being classical string backgrounds. Ten no-go theorems against 4d de Sitter extrema will be provided and, for each of them, the order one parameter entering the conjecture will be calculated. The second conjecture will be tested directly in gauged supergravity in 4d, arguing that it can be used to put constraints on de Sitter vacua as well.
