Massive and critical gravities in d > 2

In this talk we will consider gravity theories including specific curvature squared terms, that in three dimensions lead to so-called New Massive Gravity. We will show that for generic regions in parameter space in d > 3 linearized perturbations are propagated non-unitarily, while in d=3 a region of parameter space exists for which the theory propagates massive gravitons in a unitary fashion. We will show that there exists a critical point in the parameter space of these theories, where they are conjectured to be dual to non- unitary logarithmic conformal field theories, that might be useful from the point of view of condensed matter physics.
