Aspects of asymmetric Gepner models in type II

Dan Israel (LPTHE & IAP)

In this talk I will present new types of Gepner models in type II
superstrings, based on asymmetric modular invariants. They generalize
asymmetric orbifolds of toroidal or free-fermion compactifications to
interacting conformal field theories. These models break part of
space-time supersymmetry and typically lift a large part of the moduli
space of the underlying CY; for instance a class of models corresponds to
STU N=2 supergravity with no hypermultiplets. Finally I will discuss
possible relations with non-geometric compactifications.
